It depends how overdue they are. If they were an hour our so, no. A few hours and you haven't heard from them at all, I'd start getting nervous. I would say, for me, after about 3 hours (if the person is usually reliable and does not do this ever) I would start to call friends and family of my mate to see if they knew anything. Any more than 5 hours (for me) I'd call the police. I am an avid worried however, so my feelings may be exaggerated

It depends on their lifestyle. If my husband or best friend get home a few hours behind schedule I don't worry. There would be no reason to call the police unless the person was missing for up to a day and you've called around and can't find them and no one else they know has seen them.

lol i wouldn't call the police until they are gone for a full day and night and at least half the next day too. And he sure would be facing a hell of a lot of questions from me and a nice cold couch to sleep on. I would of course suspect the worse and that he was cheating, but thankfully i have never been faced with that, so i'm not totally sure what i would do.

no I don't, cause by the time the cops were to show up (if ever) he would most likely be home by then.
(it takes the cops to FOREVER to show up around here)
hmm....I think of all the bad stuff where they could be.
my mind likes to mess with me and think that he might be out with another girl,doing something wrong, etc.....

I only call after 12 hours if they were really late.

LOL! How late....24 hours I call the police...,
2 hrs. I just squirm and maybe call her cell...MAYBE..
where she is is not a concern .
We trust.
If she comes up missing hell yes CALL THE LAW!

if they dont show up for days yes, if theres just a little late then ur gonna waste the cops time if they show up a little after they were due home
