It is estimated that some 25% of women who get their tubes tied then want to get a tubal reversal.

The cost to have my tubes ties was supposed to be $80.00 total. There were complications, I had to stay overnight in the hospital so the bill wound up being around $800.00.

The average cost of tubal ligation REVERSAL is around $7,500.00.

Same risks. Same tests performed. Same surgical methods. Does that seem fair to everyone?

Can a doctor or other medical professional explain to me why the cost is so drastically different?

The process for reversing the procedure is more complicated. as far as fair-has anyone ever promised you that life would be fair. If anyone told you that - they were lying.

my tubes were tied and grew back together so i had to pay for an abortion and another tubal, it all cost me far more than what you are quoting, if they are doing tubals for just 80 dollars where you are its because someone is trying to help control the population, stop whining and dont ever get a tubal if you want to reverse it, thats just stupid.

nope, seems about right.

There are many charitable organizations that help women pay for tubals (planned parenthood for one) Insurance companies also might cover them (babies cost a lot more than tubals) but won't cover a reversal because it's not considered medically necessary.
