Are you looking for a particular ship you have some information of or any ship that can meet your requirements or provide a particular service?
For a particular ship you need to know the Ship's 'Flag' or country of registration. With that you should narrow it down to the owner and operator.
If you are just trying to fill a need or service then go through a ship broker in the area you are interested.
