Duncan looks like is about to get another ring now that the Mavs have all but handed them the championship on a silver platter. He is an exceptional player, a great leader, lethal at the paint, an awesome defender and a scoring monster. He is calm and cellected on the floor, doesnt talk smack, doesnt make flashy dunks, and is never involved in any controversies. He may have the numbers to beat most centers/forwards, his lack of emotions and flash will hurt him. I believe is the 10 most talented at his position and definitely in the top 15 but a few years after hes gone no one will remember him coz he is next to never in any highlight reels. If I was to start a franchise, I would pick him out of all the players in the league to lead but I also know that he will never sell the most jerseys coz hes just not flashy enough.

It's kinda close, but I wouldn't put Duncan in the top 10 of all-time...I would say that Duncan has been the best player since 2000.

He's already there.
He's not as good as Wilt, Russell, Kareem, Magic, Bird, Oscar, Shaq or Jordan, but he's as good as anyone else who ever played the game.
He's also the best power forward of all time, and has 3 championships (so far) with 3 finals MVPs, plus two regular season MVP awards.
He averages 21 ppg in the regular season, and 24 ppg in the playoffs. His rebounding numbers also go up slightly in the playoffs.
He might be "boring" to watch, but he's the most fundamentally sound player in the NBA today, by far.

Of course he'll be in the top 10. You have to look at this rationally not with some bias against him because you don't like the style he plays. I'm not fond of Kobe but I'll be the first to admit he's an amazing player on the court. And for the guy who said he didn't sell shoes, he does, they're addidas. http://www.shoes.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=web&product%5Fid=5036814&variant%5Fid=EC1033871&CMP=OTC-Yahoo&partnerid=Yahoo&cse=Yahoo&campaign=ADIDA&group=Athletic&csekw=ADIDA+Mens+Basketball+Black/Silver/Black
And I dont even know how to respond to the one about the Mavs handing the Spurs the Championship. I'll have to think about that one once I stop laughing. How would you explain they're collapse in the finals last year (and this year)? I guess they handed the Heat the championship too?

Actually I dun find him that great lor. Compare to other NBA players, most of them can shoot long distance and also go for dunks. But for Duncan, think he is only effective when he is near to the basket. Put him further and he is like a bird without wings....

I believe so for he ought to be amongst them. Just look at his accomplishments: 3 championships and counting, 2 MVP's, 3 Finals MVP's, 9 (in 10 seasons) First Team selections, 10 All-Star appearances, etc., etc. He's also a joy to watch - the old-school post moves, off-the glass shots, the shot-blocks and the cool and quiet demeanor on the court. Truly one for the ages.

Top 10? Not likely.
Top 15? Possible, but not a certainty.
Top 20? Most probable.

Duncan has certainly proved himself on offense but he has a way to go on fielding. the way he is playing now, and if he keeps it up, he may have a chance
