A very dear friend has tragically lost his life and I am trying to help his mother come up with a song to play at his funeral Thursday. He was an AWESOME single dad to two boys, 20 and 9, he was lead singer and played guitar/drums for a top 40's/rock n roll band and rode his Harley as much as the weather permitted (and sometimes when it didn't) lol. If he wasn't at a gig or at work you can best believe his youngest was right behind him on that bike too. His passion was a Camaro that he has had for 20 years and had almost completely restored. Hope that information may help someone to enlighten me to something beautiful but fitting! Thanks for your time!

"American Pie" by Don McLean would be a good choice as your friend was a rocker who owned a Chevrolet. I think the song would speak volumes.

Poor Song Choices Atmosphere - Russ Abbott Scooter - The Logical Song Burnin' Love - Elvis Presley Massive Bereavement - Ocansize Live Forever - Oasis Die Die My Darling - The Misfits Going Underground - The Jam and many more ha ha I fancy having Supper's Ready by Genesis played at my funeral just so everyone has to sit through 25 minutes of prog rock as I burn. Or I might actually have the Russ Abbott song played. It's be good for a laugh...

I have already chosen a piece of music to be played for my own funeral.

I think it would be lovely.

Somewhere Over The Rainbow.
By: Isreal Kamakawiwo' ole.

He puts together in the same song, Somewhere Over The Rainbow and What a Wonderful World.

This song was in the movie, Finding Forrester.

It's just beautiful.

Tears in Heaven--Eric Clapton
Free Bird--Lynyrd Skynyrd
Both of these are great and meaningful songs. They are classics. Nothing too modern or trendy. Sorry for your loss. Hope this helps.

My father is around your friends age...similar speck...Harley, Chevy's...rock and roll. If my daddy was to pass tomorrow it would definitely be a CCR song or something *old school* rock and roll.

a recording of his group's music--an appropriate one, not "Let's Go To the Hop".
