The envelope surrounding the nucleus of animal and plant cells and of single-celled organisms has been found by electron microscopy to be made up of two more or less parallel membranes with a spacing in the range of 100 to 300 A. More information can be found in this original paper by ML Watson:

The width of phospholipid bilayers in animal cells is on the order of 60 Angstroms, though it depends somewhat on the solute.

My guess would be that it depends on the cell or the tissue that it's making up. In most cases microscopic.
