The best way to remove static would be with dryer sheet in the dryer or air dry the shirt.

I usually de-energize my shirts and socks, etc by wiping them over a metal water pipe. The pipe is (or should be) electrically earthed and this seems to ground out the static charge. Not always 100% efficient, but seems to handle a lot of it.

Note: the pipe has to be attached to the water supply, such as the metal part of the laundry tap (faucet). It won't work if it is just a piece of metal lying around.

So any conductor that is grounded should do the same thing.

You can buy a can of static guard at most grocery store's, in the laundry section, you just spray it over your shirt and that's it. Another, cheaper home remedy you can try is aerosol hairspray, although do it very lightly and further back so you do not ruin the shirt, as this product is much heavier and has more of a sticky residue.

There are commercial sprays for this, but the smell is really irritating. The best tip I've read that really works is simply pin a safety pin in an unnoticable spot. it will eliminae the static/
