I would have to say that Interview With a Vampire is probably the best vampire movie ever made. It seems the most believable; it shows the benefits and the struggles of "vampirism". If there is such a thing. Therefore I'd say Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise, even Antonio Banderas. They all were so good in their roles.

Actor: Bela Lugosi Actress: Kate Beckinsdale

The CreepMeister himself, Bela Lugosi who influenced subsequent actors, especially Lee whom also added his own touches. His accent is imitated today by horror fans everywhere and his old-world manners had me convinced for yeasrs there were indeed vampires. Lugosi died lonely and broke but left several generations his rich legacy. He and Boris Karloff really put the "sin" in sinister. Tom Cruise did quite well as Ann Rice's Lestat, but American English speaking vampires really lack the scaaary intonations.

Hi It would have to be Peter Cushing. He was one of the great British actors of all time and his sharply chiseled features were a plus when he played vampire roles.Apart from Bella Lugosi ,Cushing and Lee were the best.

1). Max Schrek as Count Orloff, in "Nosferstu" (1922)

Despite being a silent film, Max Schrek's chilling performance in "Nosferatu", is simultaneously revolting and compelling; his vampiric, rat-like performace and visage is quite creepy and menacing. A horrific milestone in cinematric vampire films.

2). Barry Atwater as Janos Skorzeny in "The Night Stalker" (1972)

Part vampire, part serial killer, Barry Atwater's performance as a psychopathic Las Vegas vampire is most relentless and menacing; despite being relegated to twilight shadow stalking, once this horrifically demonic presence leaps insanely from the darkness....well, it's all over but the blood-sucking!!!

3). Chris Sarandon as Jerry Dandridge in "Fright Night" (1985)

Despite a calm, cool and aristocratic demeanor (i.e., whistling "Strangers in the Night", right before taking his next victim), this creature is most ruthless and determined; once his path (and his anger) is crossed, there's no stopping him.

4). Bill Paxton as Severen in "Near Dark" (1987)

Ruthless, sinister and psychopathic doesn't even begin to describe this hick wildcat of a vampire; torture and murderous meyham is the order of the night for this dynamic, carnal and savage creature, before finally performing his cou-de-gra (excuse the spelling), and taking a victim.

5). Tom Cruise as Lestat de Lioncourt in "Interview with a Vampire" (1994)

Much like Terry O'Quinn's psychopathic character in "The Stepfather", Lestat has long foregone the concept of good and evil, and is underliningly driven to forge companionship and family, in a most unholy way, and despite reservations from his intent...the so-called 'family' members, who play a reluctant role in Lestat's play. His foremost weapon is his compelling, hypnotic and slightly effeminant aristocratic innocence.

...these are the five most prominant...most effecting cinematic vampiric presences, off the top of my head; hope that some of these are yours.....

I remember seeing an old vampire movie when I was 12 back in 84 it was called" the fearless vampire hunters". there was a scene that gave me chills. I guess it was a gay vampire sitting next to the vampire hunter's apprentice acting all gay asking him if he was going to the ball.the apprentice is looking forward at a huge mirror horrified that the guy next to him cast no reflection. the vampire's face going from gay to rage scared the hell out of me.so he chases him the apprentice meets up with the hunter a goofy old man . they realize the ballroom is filled with vamps and try to make it out alive. there's a twist at the end.

I don't know if anyone remembers this series. There were only 8 episodes before the main character got killed in real life. It's called Kindren: The Embraced. You could order it at any of the movie places like Coconuts. Mark Frankel (I think that is his name) was the main character. He played Julian Luna.

Kate Beckinsale in 'Underworld'. She turned me into a fan. Forget the actors, it's all about Kate the actress.

If you want an actor though I would have to say Wesley Snipes in 'Blade'.

Sadly, Tom Cruise, who I hate as an actor, is likely the 2nd best as his role as LeStat in "Chronicles of a Vampire" role.

Not even the author, Anne Rice, thought Tom could effectively pull off the role, but he did.

I do not like him personally for his religious opinions and views as he he a butt-wipe Scientologist, but still think his role in "Chronicles" puts him in the number #2 spot.
