I don't know what color my date's dress is going to be yet, but is it sufficient enough if i wear a tie that matches her dress? or do i also have to wear a shirt that matches that color? because i was planning on wearing a blue shirt

Wear a basic suit or tux, and then find a flower the same shade as her dress. I'd go with a basic black overall, though.

I'd go with neutral blue like a dark blue. Also you can ask her for maybe a color swatch or idea of what shade it might be. Also white is a safe bet for a shirt, but tie needs to be similar.

THE TIE WILL DO JUST FINE DUDE. IF YOU REALLY WANT TO CURL HER TOES THEN MAYBE THE SAME COLOUR "HANKY" IN THE TOP POCKET OF YOUR SUIT ASWELL. GOOD LUCK N KEEP IT SAFE.
