Yaar I never wanted to reply this question but now I'm being forced to reply this when wrong information is being given on legal issue. Firstly there are not six types of constitutional writs but only five, these are provided under Article 32 & article 226 of the Constitution of India. These constitution writs can be issued by the Supreme Court of India under Article 32 of the constitution or by any High Court in India under Article 226 of the constitution for the enforcement of the constitutional rights only under article 32 & both constitutional as well legal rights under article 226 of any person in India. As far petition under Cr.P.C. i.e. the Criminal Procedure Code, 1973 is concerned it is regarding any criminal complaint against any person for the offence committed by that person in a court, or for seeking bail against the arrest order for any offence complained off, or seeking maintenance by the wife or children or parents, or any such purpose that is provided therein. This the brief ideas I have given these two type of petitions. For detailed information it will take hours & numerous pages to provide full details. Hope this will be sufficient for your purpose.

Writ Petition is filed under Articles 226 and 227 of the Constitution of India. There are six types of writs. Any fundamental book on Constitution will guide you. A petition under CRPC, meaningly Criminal procedure Code, could be one for Bail, or for any other reason. But I feel that you could be worrying about an original petition under sec.482 CRPC for the quashing of some or the other proceeding. That could be done under Art.226 also. If one invokes one of the provisions, then the other remedy is barred. Basically writs are filed to undo the wrongs done by so many authorities under the Government. It is also done to rectify the mistakes done by authorities and when do not act according to procedure laid down by law.
