Kind of. I'm more annoyed at how greedy theyve become and can't pay their own artists. Hell even sound exchange, a group that made to collect digital royalties for artists and is now non-profit since being spun off form the RIAA can't even pay the members it signs up.

The only reason alternative music ever came into exsistance is because it used to be what indie bands were called. more people start to support the alternative bands and the big labels caught on and started calling their music alternative believing that its the genre that sells and not the music itself. I guess thats right too anymore.

I mean how many 'big' bands sound the same? so can alternative really exsist in a big label market?

Yeah, it's kinda funny how musical hair-splitting works, so that there can even be "alternative comtemporary country", which is really standard top 40, but with a mandolin, and a female singer with a leather studded bracelet. And maybe the guy playing keyboards has a haircut like Brian Jones!

It has been so long since they've heard rock - they don't know what to call it. That's all it is.... the evolution of Rock and Roll. They called Soundgarden and Nirvana alternative and then grunge - heck - all it ever was was Rock and Roll.
