My wireless switch is on and lit up so can anyone tell me if i can fix it or if it's toast?

ok, now my wireless is working, but i'm using someone else's signal. i don't see mine on the list.... ? i have everything plugged in correctly, but my router isn't boosting the signal... is the router possibly bad? it's a linksys super g speed booster... anyone familiar with that?

you have nt turned it off by pressing fn and f2 have you ?

Unplug it for at least 5 minutes, then plug it back in. Somtimes they just need to power down and reset.

2. If that doesn't work, use a wired connection to the router to see if that works. Reset the router.

3. Using the wired connection, download and install the new firmware from their web site.

4. Check your pc to see if it's wireless is off. Try with another wireless pc.

Fortunately, if the wireless router is bad, new ones are cheaper now. I tend to prefer Linksys.

If it is a laptop it or you may of turned off the wireless for security - somewhere you can turn it on
Also go into your device manager .

my computer > right click > properties > hardware > device manager
Look for network down the list
click on it and on the wireless card
If there is an x or a question mark beside it right click to try to enable.
If not you may have to reinstall
My guess is that for security the laptop turned off the wireless card ( if it is a laptop)

Did you try simply rebooting your system? if that doesn't work, perhaps you could tell us what operating system you are using?
