Well... this is the story. Last semester me and my best friend were in a college class together and at the end of the semester we took our college teacher to lunch because we think she is a good person and we admire her or I do. But.. I wrote her a letter about how I felt after the class was over and told her that I admired her and I think she would be a good friend. Well.. she accepted and told me to call her by her first name. We have been writing each other through email and she sends me personal stuff like pictures and stuff(nothing bad). But like we planned to go eat again next week. Well, my best friend doesn't look at her like I do..I see her as a potential great friend and someone to hang out with alot but my friend doesn't. But I am also the only one who talks to our teacher out of the 4 of us girls. I want to go hang out with her and stuff.. but I dont want my friend to think something bad of me. My former college teacher wants to be friends too. What do you think?

Since when do you have to answer to a friend about something that you feel strongly about? Your true friends will accept you as you are.

Do what you feel is right. Quit being a follower and start making your decisions based on what you want, rather than what other people want or think. You will have a better, and happy life for it.

I think that life is too short NOT to make as many friends as you can. As long as this is not a friendship where you are using this teacher. There is nothing wrong with having an older friend or even a friend who is in an elevated position.

Frankly this is your life, the question is are you going to follow the mainstream or are you going to hike out and blaze a few new trails?

It is okay to have your teacher as one your friend. Just be careful she might think that you like her more than a "friend".

well, you should do what you want although it might upset your friends, try to convince them that your teacher is cool
