wrong and stupid to do anything but drive while driving

Mastering the cell phone while driving is a skill that everyone needs to learn.

There is the concern, certainly, that talking on a cell while driving may cause the driver to lose his/her concentration and cause a serious accident on the road. But think back to the early years of automotive history after the first car-related killings took place. One might argue that a car is nothing but a dangerous weapon when other much safer modes of transportation are available (bike-riding, horse-drawn carriages, etc.). If we take away people's cars just because they are a potential hazard, that's admitting that we can't control our own technology. The same applies to cell phones (so far as TEXTING isn't involved). If we ban talking on cell phones while driving, what could be next? Listening to/changing the radio? Talking with other passengers? These things can be distractions too, yet they have been permitted to continue unabated.

WRONG!!! Cell phone convo will cause you to not pay attention to the road. I don't care how good of a driver you are, cell phones and driving dont mix.

Nothing in the world makes me more mad than for some idiot with a cell phone attached to his/her head to run a stop sign and then, after I almost hit them, look at me like it's MY fault. I'd like to take every driver who has a cell phone stuck to their ear and stuff that cell phone up his/her rear end and then tell them "NOW TALK AWAY!"

I think if you have an earpiece it is safer. I've gotten so mad driving behind someone who is concentrating more on the cell phone than driving. Could be very hazardous! If it's that much of an emergency...PULL OVER!

I use mine, but I make sure to use speaker or a headset and to be extra careful. Some people are not coordinated enough to do it, I see them bobbing and weaving all over the road.

you should only use the cell phone while driving if it is absolutely necessary...I only use it if I get lost.

It's wrong but people still do it. That's why there's ear pieces, they're so much more convenient.

some states are trying to hand out tickets for this. It also depends on your state. And there rules.
