I'm looking for a fun or interesting of either conics, probablity, or logarithms in life. Perhaps how it is used to predict earthquakes, or in medicine, etc.

Conics, most notably the parabola are what we use in space quite often. For example, the satellite dish on your house is typically an elliptic paraboloid. The orbit of our planet is an ellipse as a consequence of the laws of motion. Probability is useful in games like poker and bridge where outcomes depend heavily on random events. Logarithms are useful in medicine in a few ways. One way is in hearing. The curve of frequencies which humans can hear is actually a logarithmic function. One method of linear regression (a statistical method of data analysis, used often in the medical field) is a logarithmic data fit. These are just a few basic uses, in all reality there is so much math in the world every day it would take a novel to list.
