Do you flush public toilets with your shoes? Do you try not to touch the door handles?

If there is no automatic flusher, I flush with my shoes. After I wash my hands, I make it a point not to touch anything in the bathroom with my bare hands..instead I use a paper towel, to even open up the door, I have been doing that since I was little and I saw some poster they had up.

Guilty to all the things. Shoe to flush, paper to touch the stall handle, and door handle. I see so many women go out without washing their hands and touch the door handle. They are then seen using the utensils at the salad bar.

i don't worry so much about flushing cause i am about to wash my hands...my bigger worry is not being able to put the seat down when i do flush. I heard on a radio talk show that fecal particles can become air born approximately 20 feet in every direction when a toilet it flushed! That freaked me right out, so now no matter where i am i always make sure the toilet seat is down! And yeah i always make sure to open the door with some paper towel, i hate to get all that bacteria all over my clean hands....

I always flush in public restrooms with my shoe. Gives me the creeps just thinking about touching the toilet. I never thought about using a towel to open the door. I always hate touching them and try to touch as little of it as possible. But from now on I'll use the towel

YES, Wow, i know what you mean. and i complain constantly to who ever i am with haha.

Some times i even wait for someone else to open the door if their are enough people and if i have travelled on public transport or the like I even wash my hands before i go.

I carry some antiseptic gel too which i use quite a bit. You just rub it on and it's alcohol based so it evaporates quickly.

But I also hate when there are soap bars instead of soap dispenser.

I'm so pleased someone else feels awful about the whole public toilet thing. Even if i'm more insane about it :)

Exactly the same way, I even turn the water back off with a paper towel, open the door with towel, and if I can reach the garbage from the door being propped, I throw away towel, if not, it waits till next can. Then out comes my own pocket oack of sanitizer. Public restrooms are horrible!

Yes, for a few years now I've been using my foot to flush. Lately, in most restrooms, everything is automatic - the faucets, soap dispenser, paper towel thingy...thank goodness cuz there were probably more germs on them than the toilets themselves! Eww...I try to avoid public restrooms in the first place if I can

I flush with my sneaker if there is no AF, and I only touch things with a paper towel. I've known some pretty sick people who like to put #2 on door handles, and locks...

he! He! He! If I flushed the toilet with my foot I'd go **** over tit on the floor and lots more germs there too. I flush wash and dry my hands. Like you I use a paper towel to open doors.I don't touch them on the outside to close it either..You need to remember there are so many places to pick up germs including.Shopping carts. money .two very prominent places germs are transferred.

Yes!!! public bathrooms are HUGE breeding grounds for bacteria and infection. I cannot stand to touch anything in them. If they do not have toilet seat covers, I will not even sit, I kind of squat over the toilet!
