Molly was talking about "someone worse than Sylar" aka someone who we haven't met yet and really opened up for future episodes and a new bad guy.

Claire didn't shoot him because she was afraid. There is also the possibility that she didn't think it would work.

With Nathan flying Peter up into the sky, that let Peter let the energy go and then Peter could heal after he exploded. Nathan is a super fast flyer so he could have flew away in time to survive.

Peter did not fly himself into the air because he was concentrating on not exploding in the middle of NYC. If he tried to concentrate on flying he would explode and kill millions, which is why Nathan stepped up to the plate.

What weird light? You mean the eclipse that they showed?

Sylar is still alive.

Volume Two well we'll have to find out when it comes back.

She didn't shoot him because she could not kill him. He would have died because she knows where to shoot him to kill him.

As for Volume Two Generations. This is where they get a lot like Highlander and you realize that this is not the first time that a group of heros has formed. They clued you in with Devereax telling you that there is always a good one and a bad one. This is a fractal theory.

As for the light. Nathan took Peter up into the sky and Peter blew up

As for the light over Hiro that was an eclipse which always seems to preceed the gathering of powers. Hiro has found the original sword barrer, the warlord who used the sword to control his powers.

And to your other question there has to be an evil for the heroes to face. No one said it was Sylar. Sylar died because you could see it in his eyes that his death was the last image he was supposed to see. But Molly has seen the ultimate evil, the one the Linderman group was supposed to be there to prevent from taking over the world. I think that is what Hiro went back in time to find out. he has to learn the significance of the eclipse and the purpose to the powers.

what im wondering is why didnt peter fly away becuase he can fly too. claire couldnt shoot becuase they were friends. sylar is alive.... i think. or my theory is that the man that is worst then sylar (molly talking about him- he can see her) took him. the weird light in volume two is a solar eclipse.
