They do sleep at night, but the interesting thing is that their metabolisms are so fast that they would actually starve to death before dawn. So, they go into a state similar to hibernation at night time. They slow down their breathing and heart rate so they can survive the night. I have read, but never experienced, that if you go out before dawn after a really windy night, you can sometimes find them on the ground, having blown out of the trees before waking up.

They sleep in nests like almost all birds do. Im not sure on how long though. Maybe 6 hrs. Even though they have high metablolism they will be fine when they eat.

Just kidding. they don't sleep. At least not the way other animals do. They go into a hibernation-like state every night.

often .we got lots in the garden ,and i see them a lot sitting on a branch ,their buzzing requires a lot of energy

I would think that since they can't see in the dark...my guess would be at night.
