There is nothing wrong in resting some of your experienced players to give exposure to some of the youngsters in order to build up a strong bench strength. However, such experience should not be at the stake of your team's pride and should be resorted upon only in insignificant matches.
By loosing the series against Pakistan, Sri Lanka have lost some of the glory they have achieved by reaching upto the final of the world cup.

no,i don't think srilanka was right in resting some of their seniors. If they are trying to give exposure to youngsters,it should be done along with their star players.Indulging all youngsters and inexperienced cricketers at once will not only result in losing game but it will also dent the confidence of the youngsters.and you are right , it also reduce the competitiveness of a match.

I think they are right in giving rest to their senior bowlers..as bowlers are always at risk to get unfit so its better to take some rest especialy after such a lenghty World cup series where they have played till final ! there is no harm in it and it would favour Srilanka in two ways that they would know what is the potential of their youngesters...as Murali would hardly continue till next worldcup i think though eh says he would but i doubt it so Srilanka need o get a couple of good bowlers for a better team !this series is not that important for Srilanka ..so this is a good chance to check out their players !! and also i think they team is still strong with the presence of some of class batsmen and they are match wining players though could not help out in first two matches !

I think they are right to have their best players rested. This 3 match series against Pak is not a big one and SL just came back from WI after playing WC Final.
On the other side you have to praise the Pak team for the excellent performance after the poor show at the WC. I like S.Malik as a captain and hope he must carry on for a long period of time.

Yes the senior players deserve rest these games are played to promote circket in this part.
Just because The Lions have lost two games does not prove that this Srilankan team is weaker than pakistan all these things happen in a game of circket.

Recently ,Srilanka has performed excellent during world cup.During the series against Pakistan they had chance to play with their best combination so that they can increase their confidence bu dew to such a shameful loose against Pakistan may affect on the confidence of their player. It also affect on the consistency of the player of their team.So it was totally wrong decision..

yes as Roshni says they can not risk senior players much.
After 2 months long world cup, it is a good move to rest the senior players and now it is the chance for building a team for next world cup.
good luck 4 new guys to the lion caps 4 3rd match.
