The most important thing in prenatal vitamins is Folic Acid, it helps the babies brain develop, and yes, it's very important. If there is a Centrum with the same amount of Folic Acid in it as prenatal's, then you should be fine. If you are having problems taking prenatals because of nausea, talk to your doctor, there are prescription prenatals made exclusively for ladies who can't stomach regular ones.

Congrats! and Good Luck!

No. They do not have as high amounts of the vitamins as you need during pregnancy, because Centrum is made just for YOUR body, not yours PLUS that of a growing baby. Not even the over-the-counter prenatals have quite as much as prescription prenatals, but they have more than Centrum. You really need to use the prescription kind prescribed by your doctor. Better safe than sorry...and why wouldn't you give your baby as many nutrients as possible?

No. Prenatal vitamins are formulated for pregnant women. Centrum is not. You need extra iron, and especially extra folic acid, which you can only get from a prenatal vitamin.

You want a vitamin that is particularly formulated for expecting mothers. Prenatal vitamins have the right amount of folic acid and other nutrients for you and your developing baby. Too much of some metals or vitamins could cause harm to a developing fetus.

If you have an OB/GYN, she/he could (should) prescribe Natatab, which is a prescribed version of a prenatal vitamin.

No it's not. Prenatal vitamins is folic acid. Centrum has some folic acid in it but not enough. Stick with prenatal vitamins.

It is OK, but no better than OK. You want to protect yourself and the baby, so go with prenatal vitamins, it is like the difference between driving a broken down Pinto and a new Lincoln so far as your and the baby's health is concerned

if u dont have prenatals...i would just go to walmart or any drug store and get some prenatals...b/c centrum is made for JUST u not that lil EXTRA body inside u....FOLIC acid is the MAIN thing u need..I would try to go get some at the drug store instead of taking a chance and maybe hurting the baby...

Hi, i was advised not too take it.

I was given a suppliement called Elevit. It is especially for pregnant women. It contains iron and folic acid and other vitamins and minerals that u need.

I suggest u ask your doc before u take anything. DOnt take anything without asking. Not every drug suits everyone.

Vitamin A is harmful to a developing fetus.

Please don't take any vitamin, like the answer below take Elevit it's all you need from conception to lactation.
