...to get drunk or be "wasted?" I never understood what is so "awesome" about being so intoxicated to a point where you are a hazzard to yourself and others.
People, please fill me in why I am "not cool" because I shy away (and always have, even as a teenager) from drugs and alcohol.

I have to go now so I will keep it short, but I agree. I feel the same exact way. Never in my life have I ever indulged in alcohol or drugs and never will I in the future. It has never been cool and there is no satisfaction in becoming involved in that scene. It is all for the looks and the status just as you mentioned in your details.
I do not know why people continue to dwell on such harmful materials, but they do and all I can ever seem to do is basically question their reasoning behind the actions in which they choose. I am still in high school and even I hate drugs and alcohol.
As the world turns, so do the minds of irrational people.

It's just a stereotype image that people who are wasted on drugs and alcohol are cool and/or that it's such a cool adult thing to do. It's especially cooler if that person smokes heavily too. To me I think it's just plain stupid. Sad thing is, these people honestly think they're so cool to society when they do such things. Most of these people are also seeking attention when they do things like that.
Then again, these people can go on doing such things to look cool or get attention or whatever. They're just wasting their health away ultimately. It's not my problem. In fact, it's not anyone else's problem but theirs.

I don't get the attraction of drugs or alcohol either. What can be so fun about feeling like crap the next day?

Well.. certain people I know drink to take away the pain of reality. I like to get drunk because I'm shy in public, and being drunk helps me act more like myself, only *slightly* more raunchy.

I've been around people that are on drugs (I never have taken them).
They are SAD SAD LOSERS. It's awful. They are like little kids getting so excited over Ice and Coke and stuff.
It's ridiculous.
It costs lots of money and makes you sick...how is that cool?

i have never really been a drinker. dont worry about it... there are lots of people that shy away from it.

no big deal to me. do what makes you happy. I enjoyed 3 glasses of wine last night but it doesnt make me bad.
I love the taste of wine, different flavors and texture.
