What do you mean?!? Telling everyone else how they should conduct their lives is affecting him personally. Whether or not Al Gore obeys his own commandments does not negate the fact that he is morally superior to the rest of us and, therefore, he deserves a pass.

Another thing Al Gore is doing that affects him personally is getting rich off of the hysteria. His speaking fees have increased tremendously.

I used to be envious just like you until I came to accept the fact that self-styled environmentalists have set the Moral Bar so high that I cannot hope to achieve such dazzling heights. Trudie Styler (Sting's wife) is entitled to her helicopter rides and Robert Kennedy, Jr. is entitled to his private jet rides precisely because they are so much better than you and I.

We should uncritically and unquestioningly obey everything that Al Gore tells us to do. We must all do as Al Gore says and not as he does because he is so wonderful. By emulating his example, we may be able to strive toward similar greatness. If Jesus Christ were not God in Flesh, then I would swear that Al Gore is. He is as near to a perfect human being as our species has ever produced.

Al Gore is not a practical environmentalist. He uses the "issue" to satisfy a kook base. It is the equivalent of a Republican openly critisizing gays, despite the fact that a member of his own family is gay, to satisfy evangelicals. Al Gore is a real politician willing to put his finger in the air to see where the wind is blowing. Only thing is he did this years ago and hasn't done it again. He makes a problem where one doesn't really exist.

When the opportunity is right and Al Gore thinks he can leverage the opportunity to get some good press - only then will Al Gore make a "symbolic gesture " like using CFL instead of incandescent lamps.

As free Americans we should all be thrilled to have a former VP make such a sacrifice for our children's children. I can now fall asleep and dream good dreams about the future.

Press conference: Al Gore decides to use single ply toilet paper in effort to save trees from distinction.

US citizens comment on Al Gore's decision to use single ply toilet paper in gallant effort to save trees from distinction. -

Tim (CA) says " could be very difficult since we all know Al is full of sh--. He'll probably just use twice the number of rolls daily"

George (TX) says " I wouldn't count on Al Gore in a fight - his wife Tigger - now that's a lean mean fighting machine. Be a real man Al - wipe it with your hands.

Jean (MN) says "he means well, even though he screwed the US ability to gather intelligence. You know, 9-11 wasn't planned overnight. Experts suggest it was in planning for almost 6 years - you know while Al was in Washington as VP.

Luther (TN) says "my man Al is ok by me" He always waves at me from his yellow caddy on the way to Sunday dinner - You've gotta like a fellow who remembers where I tip my hand on Sundays. If not for his escort, I'm sure he'd stop and flip me some change so I could get me something to eat."

For Al Gore, it's all about Al Gore. Al, are we still on for golf day after Memorial Day? One last time Al, we celebrate Memorial Day............

He probably does a lot more then you know. A person still has to live. It is funny that people think that if you support change because of global warming you should somehow stop traveling. The world is the world.

but I would say that he has personally done about a million times more then you sitting on yahoo and complaining about him. He has raised awareness and he sacrificed a lot of his personal life to this venture. What have you done that will effect a world wide change. Using energy efficient light bulbs helps but what real sacrifice have you personally made that will effect anything.

Boy, you people are really negative! He believes in what
he's saying and is doing everything he can to bring the
problem to the attention of everyone. He is personally doing
what he preaches. What have you done today to reduce and
reuse and recycle. Why not try to help instead of criticize.

he might never because people only want to help others if it doesn't affect them personally. its easier that way so he will never be selfless and spend money for others because he wants to live a good life. helping and living a good
life is something hard to do at the same times.

oh he is doing something.... He is actually part owner of the company that sells "Carbon credits" so he does not ever have to worry about his own personal impact.

Funny the guy who has the most to gain from this environmental scheme monetarily is also it's biggest champion... any one else see a conflict of interest?

So he can pollute all he wants because he has unlimited carbon credits, but the rest of us have to sacrifice...

Yeah he is doing something about it all right... he is getting rich and screwing the poor.

Well, he does eat beef, doesn't he? And we know how much cow belching contributes to global warming. Hmmm, maybe he'll give up baked beans, too.
