Are you kidding? In four terms, FDR couldn't pull the United States out of the depression.

Incidentally, the Congress changed the Constitution after FDR to make sure that no president ever served more than two terms again. George Washington had set the precedent of only two terms and every president after honored that...until FDR.

Lincoln saved the Union. Incidentally, he was criticized as much at the time as Bush is now.

FDR. Lincoln started a un-just war with the south-usa. They had the constitutional right to leave the union and Lincoln didn't acknowledge that. The war wasn't about slavery it was about his pride. The first half of the war the north was getting their tushes kicked to kingdom come because the south had all the expereinced genrals ( such as my great great great grandfather william yarnel slack). But then the north changed it to slavery and used it as a motivator infact Lincoln evenrefered to slaves as (******) or the n word. Lincoln was just as racist as the southerners. The reason the north won is because they had all the rail ways and all the factorys. That was wasn't right. That was wrong. FDR on the other hand entered a war for the sake of the free world.

FDR and for the record, my bosom swelled with pride today when I heard that Newton Gingrich quoted Franklin as he fillied in for the dearly departed Jerry Falwell at Liberty University on Saturday. Onward towards the New Inquisition!!!

Oh, I favor Lincoln. Let's face it: he was born in the south, married a southernor, was killed by a southernor, yet governed as a northerner. He was ridiculed, mocked, threatened; he lived the life of an Indiana Jones, fighting river pirates to take his family's goods down the river to New Orleans. He was an inventor, holding a patent.
FDR, while he also faced a divided nation, never worked (I mean labor-type), did not face personal dangers, did not face ricicule or mockery. And, he did not re-unite a divided country.

Lincoln was dealing with keep the country together, and linclon had to deal with states breaking away from the USA, and the civil war was brutal, sad, but it was necessary to keep the country together. FDR is great, but I dont feel he made the though discision linclon had to because the country was in economic depression, but Linclon was dealing with something worse the country becoming unglued.
