we are in a 1 year leasere signed a new lease agreetment on 3 31 2007 new lease does not start until 6 01 2007, can i get out of the new lease? if so how

No, not without repercussions. The fact that your new lease does not start until your current lease expires is not relevant to the fact that you signed a legal binding contract with your landlord.

At this stage, you are in the same position you would be in any other time you wish to terminate a lease before its expiry date.

No u cant without paying a fee. You can advise the landlord/agent and give 28 days written notice but you may have to pay for:

readvertising
let fee
rent until they find a new tenant

If you have a special reason that u want out, and if landlord is nice you may get away with paying anything.
