I'm sure the Porsche is faster in most ways including track times - but it should be at triple the price. Either car is absurdly fast for American roads, but I'd love to have one of each!

Both great cars and capable of some impressive speed. On a technical level, the Porsche is light years ahead of the Ford (for the person that thinks it's a VW? They may want to check out the number of manufacturing patents that Porsche has connected to the C-GT's development and the number of unique materials used in it's construction). And to a large extent, this advantage in technology and approach will make the Porsche faster.

Not that the Ford is slow! It's a wonderful update to the GT40... but, it is sadly lacking in attention to detail, which would go to explain much of the cost difference. The only time I've seen a Ford GT at an open track event, it was quick, looked and sounded wonderful, and after only one run session, it left the event on a flat bed because the rear bumper was melting from the exhaust heat! Seems this hasn't been a limited problem... but the fact that Ford couldn't design body work that wouldn't melt when the car was run at or near WOT for 10+ minutes?

In contrast, the few Carrera GTs I've seen at the track have turned great laptimes, sounded unbeleivable when run wide open, and ended the day with nothing more than the expected tire wear.

Both are fast and exotic, but the Carrera GT seems to actually be made for driving fast.

A Ford GT is not cheap.
Go to the libary and look for the article where there was a road test on these two cars (and some other outofsight cars).
The over all winner was the Ford GT.
As for a Porsche, give me a break. They are just an over priced VW on steriods.

They are both very fast. The Carrera GT has 605 HP and all Carbon Fiber. As far as the Ford GT smoking it, I doubt it. It would be close off the line but in the end the Carrera will win overall. Now I haven't driven a FORD GT. But I have driven the Carrera and I must admit it is scary to drive. Tires will break loose in 3rd. Heat them up first. Check out TOPGEAR. you can do a search on all there videos.

All of you could not afford 1 of these cars let alone the magazine to get the specs on these cars. Finish grade school first and sell your skateboards.
