Some people do not make such big life decisions until a couple years out of high school. It is ok to not be sure yet. Take the required general english classes, a fashion design class, and an anatomy class. You will have alot of difficult science classes ahead for medicine, no matter which field. You can do it, but will you like it? Fashion takes dedication and persistence to get on top. Are you a go getter? There are so many other options, take some classes, do some research, and have fun with experimenting. You are young, relax and enjoy it!!

How good are you with math and science? Having an artistic eye even plays well in the practice of medicine. How many years are you wlling to dedicate towards your career choice? Medicine is at the very least 8 more years of school. My recommendation is to enroll in a two year school and knock out the basic courses. Get your associates and think about it a while. Then, apply to a four year program, doing all of the hard science type courses whle minoring in something like Art. At the end of that program maybe then you'll know more and have a better feel for where you want to be in twenty years. In the meantime, you'll have wasted nothing and set yourself up for either direction.

The great thing about college is it gives you an opportunity to take some classes in different areas to really give you an idea about the industry. You have to get general education stuff out of the way anyway so taking some electives that you may be interested in will give you some direction. Also colleges are filled with career centers to help answer questions about a job, major, etc... Also you can do internships in a certain industry as a trial run.

Well your not going to talk someone out of doing what they want so your best bet is to just be a friend and support her.She probably really wants her dads approval. Most women feel that way even if they wont admit it.That being said, if you think it will help let me tell you about my husband.I was lucky enough to discover what I love and am good at at a very young age.I've been in sales since I was 16 and I freaking kick butt at it.I thought my husband would be good in sales to.I spent a whole year working to put him through real estate school, in the hopes that I could be a stay at home mom. I didn't consider the fact that this man hates paper work, sitting at desks, and wearing a button down shirt with slacks. He didn't either so after he got his license we thought we would be good. Unfortunately he hated it so much that he really sucked at it.We got to the point where I was basically doing 90% of his job on a nearly full time basis. The whole thing was just a total nightmare. We're recovering now and next month he is opening up a detail shop.Detailing cars isn't quite as prestigous as being a realtor, but he wants to work with his hands and be his own boss.He actually likes cleaning cars, he's good at it too so it makes him happy. There is low overhead and he has a lot of business lined up so 4 years after he started school we're finally going to be in good shape. His parents are not going to brag to their friends about how good he is at cleaning cars. It doesn't matter though, because he will be happy at it. He found something he is going to like and he's so jazzed up about it we actually got people to invest in it. No matter what you do it has to be something you like or your just not going to be good at it. I know a lot of people, and I don't know anyone who is really successful in a job they hate. The most sucessful people I know love what they do.The happiest people I know love what they do even if they don't nessesarly make a lot of money at it.Hopefully your friend will relize what a mistake this is before shes done with school. If she doesn't resist the urge to say I told you so when she hates her job and ends up going back to school in 5 or 10 years.Good luck to you both.
