Someone I know hasnt been on their period in 4 months. She is just a teen and hasn't been on it for too long. She ran into a problem with a boy. He started to have sex with her, but did not go all the way. She hadnt started her period even before that. She isnt pregnant is she? And is it ok to be irregular like that?

When I was younger, my friend got one period and then didn't have another one for six months. The doctor told her that it can take up to two years for a girls periods to regulate. Although, it would be wise to get a pregnancy test if she is at all comcerned.

If you have unprotected sex, there is always a chance that you can get pregnant or catch an STD. It's not unusual for teenage girls to have irregular periods but 4 months seems a bit long. Your friend should go to the doctor, have a pregnancy test and talk to them about her periods. Sometimes birth control pills are prescribed because they regulate the hormones and prevent pregnancy. Your friend might benefit from this.

When you first get your periods they will be very erratic for the first year or so. If she was having sex with a male though she could very well be pregnant if he had his penis inside of her. She should take a home pregnancy test to rule out pregnancy and if not pregnant then just monitor things since you said she just started having her period. Encourage this person to consider some type of birth control though if she is going to be fooling around with boys.

I have to be honest and ask an honest question... why hasn't she completed a pregnancy test? Tests are available in every drugstore and are highly effective. If she can't afford an at home pregnancy test, she can go to her local county health department and they will test her for free.

Also it is common for females of various ages to have laspes in their menstrual cycle, although the usual cause of a missed period is pregnancy. Also it is possible to become pregnant as a child before the onset menarche and her first menstrual cycle or even after the beginning of menopause, so age is not really a factor in considering a possible pregnancy.

She should be tested.

I once missed my period three months in a row when I'd just started it, so that part could just be caused by your friend just starting her period. If they didn't go all the way, she probably isnt pregnant. But then again who knows? Her best bet is to get tested. And if she doesn't get her period soon, she may want to see her doctor, anyway.

well, of course i'm no doctor, but i don't think there's something wrong with her. young girls who have just started having their period are always irregular for about the first year. but just to be on the safe side, you could suggest that she take a pregnancy test, and i would also recommend an STD test if she's been doing things with boys unprotected.

Get to a doctor ASAP! She could be pregnant.

If penetration occured, the boy does not HAVE to ejaculate to cause pregnancy. Enough seminal fluid leaks from an erect penis to get the job done.

And if you dodged the pregnancy bullet, there still might be serious problems. Talk to your mother and see a doctor!
