I'm thinking the firearm scenario would be instant termination and the nude photo scenario would only warrant a disciplinary level, hence a second chance. Therefore, my answer is that bringing a firearm to work would reap much graver consequences all the way around.

The porn would get me fired. The firearm wouldn't even be noticed by most of those in the office, nor would they care. I'm a probation officer, and in my area, we're allowed to be armed. I usually carry whenever I go on home visits.

States vary on this... but in most if you have a permit to carry a weapon, you cannot get fired for bringing it to work. You can get fired for displaying it or using it, but if you keep it concealed, you are probably within your rights. Well, unless you happen to work at a school, bar or federal installation.
