Why not the other way around?

Is Europe the center of the world? Does this have something to do with Roman Empire being the most powerful nation back in ancient times?

This comes from European explorers. They created the first world maps and of course for them Europe was the center. They sailed west to get to America and East to reach Asia.

When the question was decided (for English speaking persons, anyway), England was the capitol of the British Empire. Thus, the Prime Meridian, Zero Degrees Longitude, runs through the Royal Observatory in Greenwich, South London.

in your mind yes ...why not .
and ask your self are we up or down ... where is the up and where is the down on the space ?

but you know that the longitude measured east or west from the prime meridian at Greenwich, England . It's The Royal Greenwich Observatory ,oldest scientific institution in Britain, founded for navigational purposes in 1675 by Charles II at Greenwich, England. Its main contributions have been in navigation, timekeeping, determination of star positions, and almanac publication. In 1767 it began publishing The Nautical Almanac, based on the time at the longitude of Greenwich; its popularity among navigators led in part to the Greenwich meridian's being made Earth's prime meridian and the starting point for international time zones in 1884 .
it's ( international agreement )
