I'm due to go in for my 6 week post partum check up tomorrow (I'm a little late, my son is 7 wks) ANYWAY, I got my period two days ago and am wondering if I should wait until after I'm finished or still go tomorrow. Obviously I'm not worried about grossing the doctor out (he was there when I gave birth after all) but I just don't know if they can still do all that they need to.

The same thing happend to me. I started 2 days before my visit. I cancelled and waited until I was finished. I called the office and they told me that was fine to reschedule.

Well the best way to answer that is by calling your doctor's office and ask them. some doctors say go ahead come in some say wait until you stop bleeding. it's up to your doctor. you need to get checked out soon though to make sure you don't have an infection.

I just had mine last week, I also was late by 2 weeks. The doc did not do anything to me internally at all that would interfere with having your period however might be best to check with your own doc if they need to do an internal before you go. Good luck.

Call your doctor and ask his preference. I'd tell you to come in tomorrow since you are already a week overdue.

I would go ahead and go, but you can always call and ask if you should reschedule or not-some offices require a 24 hour notice, and you might get charged anyways...

YOU SHOULD RESCHEDULE IT FOR A TIME WHEN YOUR NOT ON YOUR PERIOD BECAUSE HE NEEDS TO DO A PELVIC EXAM TO MAKE SURE YOUR UTERUS RETURN TO NORMAL SIZE AND TO MAKE EVERYTHING IS OK DOWN THERE
