I would say watch the sales at the various dealers.. like Best Buy or Staples, any computer store will do.. or try the outlets that are associated with the computer manufacturers... I know HP has one, and I am sure the rest do also..

Good luck.. I did see a notebook for under
$500 in last Sunday's paper..

Yes it deffinatly sounds like it is time for an upgrade. If you want to buy a name brand computer, the cheapest place is at Dell. They frequantly have deals, so shop find what you want. The nice (and bad) thing about them is that you can make payments, so you don't have to dish out all the cash at once. They are the cheapest place for a computer that I have found for what you get. I recomend them first, but look around too. Ohh and plus if you type in a search for dell cupon codes you can find some deals that way too. I saved over $200 on the one that I bought doing that.

Time to get a new one and you're wise to avoid ebay. For value, the dell esp the 1505 can't be beat. Also toshiba, hp and compac. Avoid acer, emachines and gateway. Prices ALWAYS drift down, but there are good back to school deals in July and Inel will do a discount to mfgrs July 22, so that will bring down the price to the consumer
