Of course you can upgrade your RAM. The only thing you need to know is what type of RAM you need- DDR or DDR2.
It should say on your motherboard. Likewise, you can take a look at the current RAM installed on your motherboard and see what it says there.

THe max RAM should be 2 GB. You should be able to upgrade to 1GB pretty easily. The one thing you need to do is check to see if you have 1 512MB stick or 2x256MB sticks installed. Then you know if you can add 1 extra 512MB stick or spend the extra for a single 1GB stick or 2x512MB sticks. Try crucial.com they have a memory checkr that will tell you what you have and what you need.

You can put in 2 sticks of 1 gig easy. Your computer with 3ghz ought to easily allow 2 gigs of memory. I got an old(5 years) mobo its a biostar with a 1.2ghz duron. And my mobo can handle 2 gigs max with 4 slots

I agree , depends on the mb. Call your OEM (mfgr) and they will tell you what type, and what is the max amount. It is EASY to install yourself or have a hs or college kid do it for a pizza and a 12 pack of ther favorite beverage
