You can do this, but the question is why you would want to?
The speed of a flash drive is actually slower than current and previous generation had drives. You have to go pre ATA33 to get something slower than the fastest current flash drives.
So your hard drive is faster than the flash drive, it is way bigger than the flash drive, and it is permanently fixed in the system, so there is no potential for it to be missing next boot, or unplugged during a session.
The best thing to do (other than adding enough DRAM so that you do not need to page) is make sure your page file is set to a large enough initial value so that you avoid fragmenting it.

you CAN"T run any windows operating systems using a flash drive, that would be away round pirating windows, and MS would not allow that to happen
The only operating systems you can run off a flash drive is LINUX, which is free to download,

It is possible if your bios supports your USB drive and you can boot using it. In that case you can make copy of your harddrive c:\ drive on your flash drive using Norton ghost or similar application. First check your bios version and its features by visiting manufacturer's website or search on http://search.yahoo.com .
