I owe my entire life to America. I do not wear a burka, I am not beaten by my husband, I have no fear of being stoned to death for some slight or imagined crime; I can drive a car, leave my home without a male family member. I can worship any religion I choose, without fear. I do not have to wait in long lines to buy stale bread and rotten beef, and I do not have to listen to my children cry because they go to bed hungry every night.

I do not have to speak German, Japanese, Arabic, French or Spanish. I can, through hard work and good choices, become educated and make my life better than my parents' lives.

Every day I think about the men and women who are fighting for our freedom in Iraq, and the veterans who have kept our country free for 230 years. I remember those who gave up their lives so we live in a democracy, and not under a king or dictator.

Americans used to be proud of their heritage. They respected veterans and understood how important freedom is. For many, their parents and grandparents are/were immigrants who saw America as the land of opportunity and came here legally for a better life.

Now, it seems people have become spoiled and complacent. They want want want but don't want to give. Everyone wants something for nothing. All people do is complain and whine about how their life isn't "fair", e.g. Paris Hilton.

As for paying back, I am raising my three children to appreciate everything they have, to salute and respect the military, even to go up and thank soldiers for serving our country. Every morning in school they say the Pledge of Allegiance, and I make sure they know and understand the importance of this pledge. They are knowledgable about our Constitution, Bill of Rights, the Founding Fathers, and most of all, sacrifice.

I also pray, for our soldiers, for our children, and for our leaders, to find inner strength and keep doing what is right.

Our country takes 40 to 50 percent of the money we make in taxes. Then you have their lobbyist hijacking our government so they can charge 3.50 a gallon which drives of the price of everything else. Then you get a200 dollar ticket if you don't have a seat belt on....ad nauseum. Then they take YOUR money and award their buddies no bid contracts, send a billion a year to the country osamma bin hiding is living in, and all the while cut the programs that benefit the people who pay the bills.

The time has come to ask (paraphrasing JFK) ask what your country can do for you! We don't owe them a living! You would not do business with a company who ran its operations like our government does. They spend our money, we don't spend theirs!

You owe $50,000 for the War in Iraq, so does your wife and each of your children. What you don't pay your children and grandchildren will have to. Please send your remittance to the US Treasury, do NOT send it directly to Halliburton.

I owe my country, US of A, my freedom. I will lay down my life to protect my freedom. Freedom is not free as many would think.
