The average olympian runs the 400 meter in around 45 seconds.

No, that isn't good enough for olympics. I suck at the 400 and I can run it in about 1 minute and 25 seconds. You will have to train more, atleast a few day a week, to get faster. Do a time trial every three weeks of training.

Not really a good time. even in the mile the Average person runs 400 Meters in less then 1:30 and they run that 4 strait times.

no, that is not good....but if you are running the 40 in under 4 seconds you don't need to worry about the 400. olympians run the 400 in around 45 while most colleges would be happy to have someone who runs in the 48-52 range. keep trying and keep asking these stupid questions.

2 minutes is a slow time for a high school 800 meters if you want to go to college, much less the Olympics. Stick with the shot put and discus.

Are you sure your not running a further distance. I think I could do 400 in 2 minutes and I'm not much of a runner.

I threw the shot and the disc primarily and was built for it. I ran just to keep my wind and give me speed through the circle. My slowest time ever was 58 sec. p.s. I weighed 270 lbs at the time.. Keep on runnin and do plenty o' sprints.
