Rena is good. It is certainly more than enough filter for a 65 gallon tank. You could have gotten away with an XP2. A heck of a lot cheaper than a comparable Fluval filter.
What problems are you having?

The best would probably be the eheim brand canister filters, but the rena XP filters are excellent filters. I also think the XP3 is perfect for a 65 gallon tank. I have an xp3 and xp1 on a 75 gallon and love them.

Your rena xp3 is a great system and thats all you will need for a 65 gallon. You can add 2 small whisper filters to circulate water better but you should be fine with the rena

I like the Rena. It is easy to clean which is quite honestly the best thing to look for in a filter, because if it is hard to clean, it won't be. It moves a good deal of water and has plenty of room to add media. Good choice.

I would add an air pump with an airstone to break up the surface of the water a bit and add some oxygen, but you're probably set otherwise.

Fishguy makes an excellent point; the hard to clean filter won't be cleaned. I haven't had many Rena filters but have had good experiences with all that I have owned.
