im in highschool and im taking a drafting class...we were told our grades would be made up entirely on only ONE assignment, which seemed pretty cool at first, but now i realize this sucks. So we were put in groups of 5 and we have to redesign a real place in crenshaw (ca). We took a field trip to the place, then we had to come up with 4 designs for it, which took like 2.5 months. Then we had to make a final one. Do the finance, a 50 page report and put it on some program called autocad. This project will be sent to the city of crenshaw, and whoever is chosen as the winner (many schools are actually participating in it) will win $5,000 ($1000 per member of the group)

Well, the problem was that none of my group members actually care about their grades and slack off..i have practically done the 5 plans by myself. The WHOLE project is due in 2 days. and i still have to do the 50 page report, and the autocad thing (which i totally dont know how to work)..

can i finish???Am i doomed??

the bad thing is that since its a competition thingy, its due in 2 days, no exceptions!....and since i dont have the autocad program, i cant work on it at home...... :(

the project would be simple if we had split up the work, but i cant rely on my group members....

if theres a will theres a way, but i am in college and when this happens the group usually gets a bad mark- unless u go to tha teacher and tell him/her that the group members are slacking! but i firmly believe that if there is a will there is a way!! good luck..

Writing papers isn't a 5-person job, so it was delegated to one person, I hope? If that one person wasn't you, then I would focus on the autocad and make your part of the project as glamorous as you can make it. If there is one part by you that is obviously well done, and other parts that are obviously poorly done, then it's more likely that your teacher will recognize that you worked hard on your part.

This is depending on the teacher, of course... some teachers might suggest that you should have encouraged your teammates to do their jobs earlier, or some teachers might have wanted you to come to them one or two weeks before the due date with any problems with your team, rather than waiting until the last minute to tell them that your team was slacking. If your 50 page report consists of data that you have already collected (the finance, sketches of the designs, early design processes) then you have a good chance of getting a large portion of it done, by compiling what you have.

If you have nothing and the 50 pages are all text and no images, then I doubt that you could do it all in 2 days. I think 20 pages of well-written material in 2 days is the most a person could get. 50 pages filled with garbage is worth far less than 20 pages of intelligence.

So, if you're not responsible for the paper, write up 20 pages of intelligent content, without attempting to get to the 50 page mark, and emphasize that the content is yours. Find someone to help you with the autocad stuff, if you can't do it alone. And get off Yahoo Answers and get to work :)

If you have to draft it up in AutoCad I guarantee that it would take more then two days, sense you don't know anything about the program. I have been working as an Architect for about 2 years now and trust me I have had 8 years of schooling on Autocad yet I'm still learning things. If I were you i would draw it out on a piece of paper. It would take less time to do that then to put it in Autocad. Plus for a student copy of Autocad cost about $300.00 and if you went for the full copy you are looking at about $4,500.00.

You can do it, it just takes a little time management and elbow grease. Ask your teacher for a refresher course on the autocad program, finish the report, and also tell your teacher that your group members didn't do any of the work, and that you'd appreciate it if you got the credit for the project, since you did it all. The worst thing she could say is that she can't give them no grade.
Teachers appreciate honesty, and if you're calm about everything, she'll.

wish my HS had that, we just had competitions and winning state ~sigh~ lol.

your team really sounds messed up !! is it an architectural class? my class was only limited to like 8 or 11 students b/c it was seriously listed as uni. courses for architect majors. had to do a huge hotel project of 3 members. wish i could help you, but its thin.

u should tell ur teacher about this. maybe he'll give u a break?

Good luck

Have you tried explaining what is happening to the teacher? Tell him or her that you have done everything by yourself because the other members haven't participated. Maybe the teacher can kick their butts into gear. If he or she doesn't listen, go to the pricipal and tell him or her what is going on. It isn't fair that you are doing all the work. You aren't doomed, but you need to speak up for yourself.

Bust butt and get it done. And don't count on anyone else in the future for your grades. Sorry this has happened. It really sucks! And this coming from a teacher!

Why don't you talk to your teacher and explain the situation to him/her? Most teachers are pretty reasonable about that, but I DO think it's not going to sound as credible at this late date.

My cousin's daughter got through dietician school by having boys who were her friends write her papers and she would cook fantastic meals for them in exchange?
