There are a lot of Ohio aquarium clubs, and many of these have auctions and sales so members and other can pick up equipment that others are no longer using. I've gotten some good deals from my own local aquarium group. Here's a listing for Ohio: http://fins.actwin.com/dir/clubs.php?c=1&r=45
And, since no one's mentioned it yet, also check on the freecycle website: http://www.freecycle.org/ - everything listed is free!

Try E-bay or the like. Just remember a tank that work's well and has no leaks is imperative so be sure you do a thorough check. Also try to fill up the tank on a dry towel and let sit for a day or two, to check for leaks.
You need to understand maintaining fish is an investment, getting a tank started can be a little pricey, but definitely worth it. good luck!!

You can always go on Ebay or like craigslist. Those are the best choices. But most of the tanks that are 20 gallons + will not sell for about less than $50 with all the equipment. You'd be lucky if you can find one on those websites.

Well, if your plan it to make your living room look good, I'd buy some antiques.
If you're idea is to relax looking at the fishes, I'd suggest a screensaver for your computer.
If the idea is to own fishes, I'd suggest saving the ocean. You'd have an infinite variety of fishes just for you and you don't have to spend a dime to do so.
Other than that, the answers were already gone.
Good luck.

Wal-mart has a 10 gallon beginer kit for $30. Not a bad kit, but I would replace the incandescent bulbs with 10-15w compact flourescent bulbs.

The best place to look for aquariums would be Recycler.com or Aquabid.com These two are great sites i have used for years... but your post is going to be deleted soon because this is a violation of their terms of service. Anyway good luck with that

For free or cheap in Columbus, check out the craigslist.org for your area or even ebay. Good luck :)

you can also try going "thrifting" for a tank, which is basically going to a bunch of thrift stores hunt for a tank. that should save you some money, but the rest you might have to buy at a pet store. hope that helps! good luck! :)

Join your local aquarium or reef club. I saved at least $3,000 this year by being a member of my local club, and I live in a small town. If you're not sure how to find your local club, click on this link...
