Too many factors to consider to give a yea or nay answer.
How much money?
Was it in a wallet or purse?
Was it in a bank deposit bag?
In a envelope?
If it was $1 to $10 probably look around and see if anyone appears to be looking for it....If not keep it.
If it's over $50 I say take it to the police station. If no one claims it then it goes to you. Some states have a finders fee and most people want to reward you for being honest. Besides what does a persons conscience say to them?

The answer depends a variety of conditions. If you saw who dropped it you should obviously give it back. If it is found in the store unless it is a dollar or something smaller go ahead and give it to the manager just in case the person comes looking for it. If outside on the sidewalk wait a little while to see if anyone comes back. After that If you do not have any knowledge of who dropped it and it is around twenty dollars then just keep it. Anything more than that take it to the local police station and if they say that it is yours than accept it. If they take it then it is out of your hands. Just remember to be considerate and consider what you would want someone to do if they found money you lost. Hope this helps
God Bless

Depends on where you find it!!!!! The best way to handle it if you find it in a store or a building is leave your phone # w/ the store and tell them to have the person call you that lost it, they will know the amount if they are the person who lost it.Never let anyone from the store know how much you found. If it is in a parking lot or on the side of the road, and there is no way of knowing who's it is then it looks like you should keep it or give it away if you are not comfortable w/ it.

I do. I found a folded twenty dollar bill in the WalMart parking lot. What should I have done? What would have happened if I had walked into the store and ask the crowd, "Anybody lose a twenty?". No, would not have worked.

I kept it. And I don't know what I bought with it, except maybe food.

If I found a large sum of money packaged a certain way I would report it though.

When I LOSE money, I just shake my head and hope whoever found it, needed it.

It depends on where I'm going to find it. I think everyone would keep it because if you are going to ask around, everyone will claim it so why not get it and then put it on a more worthy cost. Like donate it on a church or give it as alm to other people who are more in need.

I think that if you find money on the street with no apparent owner, than you should donate the money to a local hospital. This would be a suitable destination that if the owner ever did find out that they lost their money, taht they would know that it went to a good place.

Depends where you find it, but mostly yes, because if you ask somebody did they lose money, their more likely to say yes, just to get the money!
