mine does if the census is down at the hospital. What kind of wage do you get when taking call? I get a whopping $2.00/hr!

Yes, but we call it "census time" at our hospital. we don't get paid for taking the time off.

I can be called in (and often am) or come in the next day if asked. I work for the State of Texas at a State funded home for the mentally handicapped, and they screw you on your overtime somehow. I haven't figured out how, but last month I worked 43 hours overtime and only got paid $200. But hey, it's money.

My last job had weekend rotation on call duty. I was salaried.
