The late 70's and 80's...Blondie, The Go-Gos, Prince, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Sister Sledge, DeBarge, Diana Ross, The Bangles, Wham!, Duran Duran, Culture Club...y'know, the MTV generation...when it was COOL!
The 90's...Pearl Jam and Red Hot Chili Peppers (like you said), also Nirvana, Soundgarden, Smashing Pumpkins (I met Billy Corgan!), Veruca Salt, Rage Against The Machine, Korn, Pantera and many others in the early and mid 90's era!

I don't really know what bands define me because I listen to oldies a lot and a lot of indie...
I like The Beatles, and Elliott Smith...and Feist, The Kinks, Belle&Sebastian, stuff like that.
And I'm 14. But should age matter, really? I don't think it would change musical insight.

I'm 14. Some of my favorite current bands are Blue October and Yeah Yeah Yeahs. I'm not much of one for the fake emo punk whatever rockers.
