A, if it helps think about an elevator. you are walking to the right 4 places then directions have been changed to walk 5 units left which then leaves you at -1. hope that helps!

In math the left direction is usually a representation of decreasing value. If a point was translated 5 unites to the left, you would just have to subtract 5 from the x coordinate.

In this case you'd have to find the answer where where the difference between the x coordinates of the two points is 5, AND where where the x coordinate of pt. A was greater than the x coordinate of pt. B.

A. would be the correct answer.

The phrase "translated 5 units to the left" means, X coordinate is 5 LESS while everything else stays the same.

The answer is (D),because the X and Y on the first one is (0,0) so it's not going anywhere, and the second one is the only one that's going left (5,0)!!!
