How do I keep my cats out of the baby's crib????

When baby is in the crib, shut the door with the cats out! At least until you know they'll stay out of the crib. Try putting down aluminum foil on the mattress when baby's not in the crib. Usually after a time or two of getting crinkly feet they'll stay out but some cats are stubborn and will figure out that when baby's in, the foil is out! Using a commercial pet repellant spray on the floor around the crib may help too but do check to make sure it's safe to use in baby's room!

I had to go to Babies R Us and buy a crib net. It is like a tent that pops up over the top of the crib and it zips to get the baby in and out. It worked great to. My cat tried several other times to get in after we put it on, but just couldn't do it. The tent will hold the weight of the cat if it tries to jump on top. It was pretty cool. Another good thing about the tent is that when the baby gets bigger, he/she won't be able to climb out of the crib.

The cat may be jealous of the baby, which is not good at all. i had a cat who was like that then when she stopped getting in the crib she started peeing under the crib and we had to get rid of her. the cat hair in the crib and the urine is not healthy at all. i know cats are like family but sometimes you just gotta do it.

Buy a crib tent. If they're thin and they can get through the railing, they need extra mice to fatten them up. :D You could also keep the nursery door closed and use a baby monitor to know when the baby is awake.

it's very important to keep cats away from newborns. They get dirty cat litter stuck between their paw pads and can/will leave it in the crib. If your baby eats it, he/she could become very ill.

You have a choice baby or cats... the cats can and will get the baby very sick... remember how you were advised by your MD not to change the cat litter when you were pregnant?? parasites all kinds of no-see-ems well the cats just took a nice big poop and scooted it around with their paws now they are walking all around on your baby's clean bed... think about it.... besides... fleas, dander, cats love to snuggle up to something warm... baby cant push the cats away if they are over baby's face,
The cat doesn't know, the cat just likes the warm spot in the fun new cat bed you just installed for him...its just a cat.

Keep the door closed. It's safer in the case of a fire, anyway.

If keeping the door closed is not an option, you could try using a crib tent (see link below). I've never tried it myself, but One Step Ahead is a pretty reputable company when it comes to baby products.

I have heard of those baby tents...another idea: My friend just had a baby and they installed a SCREEN door on the room instead of the regular door. They had a talented friend make the door and it latches closed. They can hear the baby, but the cats cannot get into the room. Not a bad idea huh?

either keep the door to the babys room shut or get rid of the cats!you must protect your baby at all times the cats dont know any better and could try to get milk from the babys mouth and smother it to death.if that happens it would be your fault not the cats! you must protect your baby, find your cats temporary homes until the baby is older if you must! good luck.
