ok say I work full time for 7.85. Let's just be generous and say that's 1100 a month. Rent? let's say 800? phone? electric? gas? another 100. Food? let's say 100. what about car insurance? car payment? what if I have a child? what about medical care? can I also go out to eat and watch a movie once a month? TIP us or simply cook and serve and clen up after yourself. Get your own refill at the beverage bar, go up to the counter for your own condiments, modify the heck out of your own food ( yes you can easily have it your way at YOUR house.) and scrape and wash your own plate. Buff your own silverware and roll it into a nice roll. Mix your own drinks. Be nice to your own bratty children.... Yes, please tip me. I work hard to keep you happy and a gratitude is appreciated. Not only does the IRS expect you to, they tax me a certain percent whether you do or do not and I must share my tip with the bartender, bussers and the people that make sure your food gets to your table. Note I have nothing to do with cooking it wrong, you not reading the menu, the atmosphere, the amount of time you waited to get seated, the annoying table to your right, the birthdays on any given night. I really just want you to be happy, my life depends on it.

Minimum wages are still too low. They should be at least $10/hour and indexed for inflation. Unless they are making $20/hour and the price of the meals reflect that, waiters and waitresses still deserve a tip regardless of their wage.

restruants are different. in GA, the minimum wage is $5.25 and servers make no more than $3.oo an hour, usually $2.13. and by the way, we clean the reastraunt, your table, and your mess. when i only get a dollar before tax for taking care of you for thirty minutes, i expect at least %15

Everywhere I have eaten in New Enlgand, the staff have been awesome, I always tip 20%.
One time though, I had really bad service...an all you can eat buffet, closed on me 20 minutes after I arrived, saying there were not enough customers...I left a penny as the tip..and she chased me into the parking lot yelling...................
