If you have half sisters or brothers, do you refer to them as "half" or just "sister" and "brother"

I have a half brother and a half sister, and I've only referred to them as brother and sister. I also have a step brother and step sister, with which I do the same thing. My parents have been divorced since I was 4, so as far back as I have memories, they've all been there for me as if we all came out of the same womb.

I have a half brother and a half sister (brother from my moms first marriage, sister from my dads second). I call him my brother (not half) because he is older and I grew up with him, I usually call her my half-sister only because I didn't see her much at all growing up (2 weeks a year) so there wasn't quite that connection and it just doesn't seem to fit as well calling her just sister.

My husband's brother is only a half-brother, but to other people he has always referred to him as just Brother.

one of my brothers' is a half brother, but I always refer to him as my brother. I never even think of him as a half brother. In fact, I didn't even remember until I just read your question.

I always say my Brother! It doesn't make a difference to me that we're half brother and sister.

i say my sister or brother...but if i am explaining my family to them then i say that they are my half sister and brother
