Ask your locat tax office or contact the sheriffs office about when they will be having an auction on the land. At least thats what you would do in Texas.

The land may have already been sold to another person. Start with your local county register of deeds or whatever office maintains land records in the area. Find the name of the current owner, and then contact that person to see if there is interest in the property being sold.
