What led to the Renaissance? How was it a turning point? What is the aftermath of the Renaissance?

Some statements about the renaissance to aid you.
1) the invention of a machine enabled many more people to have access to reading. This meant more people were educated and so questioned the status quo.
2) A city was attacked and distroyed by the turks forcing many educated people to flee from there to Italy. They took many of the ancient books and scrolls with them and help to created an interest in ancient civilizations, cultures and ideas.
3) There was a split in some countries between Church and State, bringing about a pride in country. There was also an increased struggle between the church of Rome and other new interpretations of Chrisitanity.
4) Ocean exploration leading to the discory of this future country.
5) Rising middle class due to the increase of this type of business due to ships going to the far east.
