You can trademark or copyright the name. Patents are for physical objects or objects that can be made physical because the patent process needs the "plans" for the object or idea you are trying to patent.

Your daughters name is not a usable invention. Though it made be a made up name and is unique it is not patentable. However, you can apply for and probably receive a registered trade mark for her name. You also could possibly copywrite the name. Look it up on line and get some good answers as to how to do both. Patent no, trademark yes, copywrite yes.

No, you can patent, or more accurately; copyright, a name. Want to hear something really scary? Parts of her genome ARE already patented. Can you imagine that our supreme court has allowed corporations to patent nature?! Including us!

No. Although you can name a child anything you want (even using numeric digits) you cannot patent the name.

I don't think you could patent it--thats for physical, actual inventions, but its possible you could Copyright it. You might want to talk to a copyright attorney.
