do you think it will get anywhere?
officially we have the Bagpipe player on any wind instrument and violin(me) on miscelllaneous string instruments but we dont really know how to play many more. We also have keyboard and guitar though. Flatfoot 56 has bagpipes and mandolins, which I also play, and they did good. opinions please.

All you have to do is grab the attention of one "right person." That person knows somebody, who they know knows somebody, and so on until you're really somethin' big. So, yeah, I think it could really work for you guys. You might even be able to break a few people out of this idea that punk is nothing but kids in their garage makin' a bunch of noise. But, hey, everybody likes a little noise, right?

It's a pretty original idea, and if I was you, I would run with it. You never know what could happen. Best of luck to you guys, and keep rockin'!!!

I think that you playing instruments that you don't usually hear in a punk band is awesome. It's also something that will set you apart from other bands out there which i think is pretty cool too, because too many bands sound the same these days.

check out gogol bordello. Its a gyspy punk band. very interesting.

so I don't see why a bag pipe violin band cant work. actually. I dont see why any band with bagpipes would fail.

do your own thing. Isn't that mainly what punk is about anymore? or at least was.

Works well enough for the Dropkick Murphies, still the best St Paddy's day band in existence. To bad punk is long over though. Aren't you supposed to call yourself alt-country or some such now?

It could work if you've got someone who can actually play the pipes well. Go look up a band called "Off Kilter". They have guitar and pipes together - even did a rap song.
