Are we better off after womens liberation? Of course the quick answer as concerns women is yes. Then again maybe not. At one time women forfeited their life of selfish ambition/gratification in humble servitude to the ones that they loved.
My personal unsubstatiated opinion is that they were happier and more fulfilled for it.
Women nowadays embrace the very culture that renders their only value according to what they look like and how much money that they make. The most respected women in my life were home makers.
Then again, maybe what drove women to seek relief from the traditional marraige was mens failure as a leader, father and a husband and their abuse of the stead that they were charged with.
Maybe Im just biased, Id rather have homemade fried chicken than drive a nicer car. LOL

That isn't a question. It's just your personal soapbox. What's the matter? Has your wife started to earn more money than you? Were you beaten out of a promotion by a woman? Sounds like a self-image issue.

If women were so content, then why were so many women (and men) fighting for liberation? You're also assuming a great deal that today's women are all about selfish gratification. I find the contrary is true. Women are as much dedicated to their children and husbands, except now they don't have to tolarate men cheating on them or beating them.
Some families don't have the choice of the woman staying home, and I'm not talking about families who have a nice car. These are folks just trying to make ends meet, food on the table, and clothes on their backs.

Hmm...I've heard this argument before, mainly in the new pop-theology relationship books. As you could guess, I don't agree with it in the slightest.

ALL people need to realize that "success" is not owning a nicer car or getting a bigger paycheck. ALL people need to stop valuing others solely on their appearance. Telling women to avoid ambition and assertiveness while silently encouraging the very same qualities in men is nothing but mental, emotional, and spiritual manipulation.

Perhaps you ought to consider why so many women in the past (for whom the good ol' fashioned marriage model was pretty much their only option) fought so strongly to see that their daughters and granddaughters would have more opportunities than they did.

And, by the way, valuing women based on their appearance began centuries ago. "Women's Lib" didn't start that, and in some ways, tried to fight it.

In my opinion, the women who deserve the most respect are the ones who do what they want without worrying about what society will think of them. Feminism has allowed us to achieve this.
